Do you offer custom cabinet solutions?

Yes, we do. We can design and build cabinets to meet your specific requirements and preferences.

How long does it take to build and install cabinets?

The timeline depends on the complexity of the project and our current workload. Typically, it can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months.

What materials do you use for your cabinets?

We use various materials including plywood, MDF, laminate, and veneer. The choice of material depends on the client’s preference, usage and budget.

Can I see some samples of your past work?

Absolutely. You can view samples of our work on our website or we can provide photos upon request.

Can you work with my existing layout and design?

Yes, we can work with your existing layout. We will take measurements and propose designs that will maximise your space and functionality.

What is the cost of your cabinetry?

The cost varies depending on the size, design, materials, and hardware of the cabinetry. We can provide a detailed quote after discussing your specific needs.

Do you provide a warranty on your cabinetry?

Yes, we provide a warranty on our cabinetry. The length and terms of the warranty depend on the type of cabinet and materials used.

Do you handle the installation of the cabinetry?

Yes, we provide full-service, from design and manufacturing to installation.

How do I care for my cabinets to ensure they last long?

We recommend regular cleaning with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Regularly check and tighten hardware, if necessary.

Is R & A Cabinets licensed and do you have QBCC insurance?

Absolutely! We have our normal public liability insurance and we are also licensed with Queensland Building and Construction Commission. Our active QBCC license number is 1091904.

Can I use my own trades people?

Yes, you supply your own trades people or we can recommend some for you.

Will you remove our old joinery?

Yes, we can organise rip-out and disposal of your existing joinery. Rip out of existing joinery – Includes allowances for removal of cabinets, removal of splash back tiles and dumping of all waste. PLEASE NOTE: THE FOLLOWING IS NOT INCLUDED. Where required removal of splash back tiles may require gyprock sheeting to be cut out as tile glue may cause excessive damage to gyprock in which case a plasterer will be required. Plumbing and electrical disconnection/ isolation is not included. Shifting of services and in most cases a plumber will be required prior to joinery installation to tidy/ prep for new joinery.

Do I have to replace the floor in my kitchen?

No, we can cover the existing footprint to some extent. This is achieved by making the kitchen cabinets slightly larger. Let our designer know and they will advise if this is possible.

Do I polish the floor before cabinets are installed?

We recommend having your floors prepared (sanded & sealed) prior to installation and completed once your joinery and bench tops have been installed. The trades will be working on top of it and scuffing may occur.

Will I be able to keep parts or all of my old kitchen?

Yes, but please let your designer know prior to check measure and they can advise trades accordingly.

What door hinges and drawer runner types do you use?

Drawers – Blum soft-close, Finista soft-close and Harn Budget drawer runners. Hinges – Blum.

Do you use imported goods?

Yes, all our hardware is imported.

Will I get a cutlery tray in my new kitchen?

Yes, we include a standard cutlery tray in your kitchen quote. If you would like other modular tray systems, please advise your designer when picking colours etc and they will advise what will best suit your design.

Will your company remove walls for me?

No, you will need to engage a builder or carpenter.

What are your payment terms?

10% deposit on signing of quote.
70% progress payment required before delivery of joinery.
20% final payment require on completion of.

What is the warranty on my new joinery?

We provide a 1-year warranty on our joinery from purchase date. This covers faulty workmanship.
We expressly exclude:
Damage or defects due to accidents, alterations, misuse, abuse, motorised devised or failure to follow any maintenance instructions, or
Normal wear and tear, and
Incidental or consequential damages, losses or costs.
This guarantee does not extend to any damage occasioned by water, fire, accident, misuse, lack of proper care or normal deterioration by wear and tear.
Our liability in respect of defects in materials and components used in the manufacture of any product shall be limited by the warranties issued by the suppliers of such materials and components and the suppliers acknowledgements that a defect exists.
